Support Ron Usenza's Recovery Journey

The goal: to get Doc Gigawatts, AKA the professor, AKA Einstein, back to the future!!!

This Go Fund Me is to help my father, Ron Usenza, and his wife, Grace. Ron is a sweet, gentle, creative, musical, funny and caring guy, according to me and most people who know him! :) Ron has been in the hospital fighting for his life for the past 3 weeks with bacterial and fungal pneumonia complicated by preexisting COPD. It has been a precarious and stressful rollercoaster for us all with small improvements and big setbacks. He is finally making positive strides this week after visits from his two daughters and meeting his 5 month old granddaughter for the first time. His spirits are lifting which is helping immensely. But the bad news is he has permanent damage and will always need an oxygen tank and it will take a very long time to get back to walking and functioning normally. Meanwhile he and his wife have not been able to work during this time of emergency and they have lost out on their income, which they depend on for their bills, as they live paycheck to paycheck. We are hoping to raise enough money to help them cover their basic needs for 2-3 months. Within the next few days the hope is that Ron will transition into a rehab facility to rebuild his ability to walk and eventually back to home and into an entirely new lifestyle. He may not be able to work again and needs some time to plan for getting back to the future. "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads."
