Ron Edwards, my father-in-law, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Monday. A car making a left turn from the opposite side of the road struck him, and he was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
Ron is now facing a broken femur, fractured neck, elbow, brain bleed, rotator cuff injury, broken ribs, and the difficult reality of having his left leg amputated due to it beyond repair. Our family is doing everything we can to support him through this traumatic time.
The light of Ron’s life is his grand daughter, Charlee. Ron has always been the kind of person who helps others without hesitation. If you know Ron, you know that he would go out of his way to lend a hand, no questions asked. Now, as he faces a long road to recovery, we are asking for that favor in return.
The funds raised will help cover temporary care for his beloved dogs, medical expenses, home expenses, etc. Insurance will be a lengthy process, but we want to keep Ron comfortable and give him the best chance at healing.
Any support you can offer will mean the world to Ron and our family. Your kindness will help us navigate this challenging journey and ensure Ron gets the care and comfort he needs. Thank you for standing with us.

Today’s Update 5/24:
Ron has had a very busy and difficult week. So far, he has undergone four surgeries. The first was to clean and treat his wounds, the second was to repair his femur with rods and screws, the third was the amputation of his left leg, and the most recent surgery was to repair his broken elbow.
He isn’t quite able to use his phone yet, but please feel free to send him a text message or leave him a voicemail. Once he’s able to use his arms more comfortably, he’ll be able to read and listen to all of your messages of support.
We also want to sincerely thank everyone for the donations, prayers, and support so far. Our goal is to help make his home as comfortable and accessible as possible so he can eventually return to a sense of normalcy and focus on healing.
Thank you all so much for being here for him and our family. He is not up for visitors yet, we will let you know when that changes.
