My family and I have a 10 month old kitten named Romeo who unfortunately had a very serious UTI that turned to crystals in his urine. Last night (1/16/2026) we had to rush an hour and forty minutes to an emergency vet because Romeo had been unable to urinate properly resulting in a complete and total blockage in his urethra. The vet kept him over night and said he would not survive the night otherwise unless they unblocked him and put in a catheter. After doing those things, they're recommending that he has surgery immediately. The surgery is very invasive and will result in him having to urinate from a higher spot on his tummy. Unfortunately, these vet bills have quickly built up and we can no longer afford them. The vet bill for keeping him overnight and unblocking him is estimated at close to $5,000 not including the extra $1,000+ for the surgery. He's my 8 year old son's best friend and a huge part of our family. Any and all help to save Romeo's life is so so appreciated.
