Help Roman Fight a Rare Autoimmune Disease
Hi, my name is Jenna and I’m a single mom to my brave 1-year-old son, Roman.
On June 29th, Roman’s life suddenly changed. What started as unexplained symptoms quickly turned into a terrifying diagnosis: Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia with Giant Cell Hepatitis, an extremely rare and serious condition affecting the liver and immune system. Fewer than 100 kids have been diagnosed with this since the 1980s.
In just 12 days, Roman spent 3 days in the ICU, received 4 blood transfusions, underwent countless labs, underwent a surgery for a biopsy, and began aggressive treatments including immune-suppressing medication, steroids, and Rituximab infusions. He now works with three medical teams — hematology, hepatology (liver), and rheumatology — to manage his care. We are currently awaiting a potential further diagnosis from his rheumatologist as they work to determine if a more complex underlying autoimmune disease may also be involved.
He’s expected to need lifelong immune suppression, regular bloodwork, and specialist visits for the rest of his life.
This diagnosis is rare, complex, and lifelong — and with that comes significant financial strain.
Why I’m Asking for Help
As Roman’s full-time caregiver, I’m doing everything I can to keep up with the overwhelming expenses while working a 9–5 job. Your support will help cover:
• Roman’s care - his treatments, medications, specialist visits, and the safe home he needs to heal and grow.
• A portion of funds will also support research into this ultra-rare condition to help families like ours in the future
Roman Is a Fighter
Through everything, Roman continues to smile, laugh, and light up every room with his sweet spirit. He’s been so strong for someone so small — and he inspires me every single day. As his mom, all I want is to give him the healthiest, happiest life possible.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep us in your thoughts and prayers, it truly means the world to us. Every bit of support — no matter the size — brings us one step closer to stability, healing, and hope.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight.
With love and gratitude,
Jenna & Roman
