Update- thank you all for your prayers and support during this emotional time. We have raised enough money to cover expenses for the memorial service. It will take another 2 weeks to move things through the Florida company we are working with, but once we have additional details to share, we will. The most important thing that we know is that Roger is living happily and pain free in Heaven. We thank Jesus for the comfort in this fact. None of this would have been possible without our amazing friends and family. We love you and appreciate you.
Bringing Roger Home ❤️
Our hearts are completely broken. Chris, Keith and Amanda's Dad, Roger Hodges, passed away unexpectedly last night after a sudden illness and hospital visit. None of us were prepared for this, and we’re still trying to wrap our heads around it.
Roger was a disabled veteran who loved his country deeply. He was proud of his service and even prouder of his family and friends. He had a big heart, a great sense of humor, and would do anything to help the people he cared about.
Right now, his body is in Florida, and our family’s biggest wish is to bring him home to Kentucky so their grandparents and all of us can say our final goodbyes. It means everything to us to give him the funeral and memorial he deserves — to honor his life, his love, and the memories he gave us.
Unfortunately, the costs to bring him home and cover the funeral and memorial expenses are more than any of us can manage alone. We’ve set a goal to help with transportation, funeral, and memorial costs.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, in lieu of flowers/gifts, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t, we would be so grateful if you could share this page or keep our family in your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
The Hodges Family
*After understanding that there may be fees associated with donations, you can also Venmo @ChrisHodges1 if it is easier. Apologies for this.
