"Support Rods' Journey to the Taekwondo World Championship!"
Donation protected
I am reaching out with exciting news about an extraordinary young athlete. Our son, Rod Diaz, a 12-year-old Canadian with Filipino heritage, has been chosen to represent Canada at the Taekwondo International World Championship in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 19-20, 2025.
Rod started his Taekwondo journey at six years old in 2019. Through dedication, hard work, and an unbreakable spirit, he achieved his 1st Dan Black Belt in December 2024. Over the years, he has competed in numerous tournaments in the USA and Canada, bringing home multiple gold medals, trophies, and championship belts, proving his skill and passion for the sport. Now, he has earned the incredible honor of competing on the world stage, proudly representing Canada against top athletes from across the globe.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it comes with significant financial costs, including travel, accommodation, training, competition fees, and equipment. As a family, we are doing everything we can to support him, but we need your help to make his dream of competing in a world tournament a reality.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to ensure Rod can compete at the highest level. Every contribution, big or small, will help bring him one step closer to standing on the world stage in Glasgow, Scotland.
Even if you’re unable to donate, we deeply appreciate your support in other ways—by sharing this campaign with your network or sending words of encouragement.
Thank you for believing in Rod and for being part of his incredible journey. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to us.
With gratitude,
Edgar and Rose Diaz
