My son Rodrigo is about to begin gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare condition that affects his muscles and causes him pain every day. Despite these challenges, Rodrigo is always ready to explore, go to the movies, and enjoy life with his family. His determination and adventurous spirit inspire us all, even on the toughest days.

To give Rodrigo the best chance at walking into his late teens, our family must enter strict isolation for three months starting September 3rd. This is a critical part of his treatment, and it means my wife, our 15-year-old son, and I will all be out of work during this time. We’re doing everything we can to support Rodrigo, but the financial strain of covering rent, groceries, and bills while focusing on his health is overwhelming.
