Support Rodolfo Duran Jr’s MS Battle

In August 2023, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an unpredictable autoimmune disease that affects each person differently. MS causes the body’s immune system to mistakenly attack its own tissues, and I have been managing this condition since my diagnosis.

Recently, I was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital due to severe bladder retention, which reached a critical point, causing significant discomfort and affecting my ability to walk. During my stay, I underwent several MRI and CT scans, which revealed new lesions on my spinal cord. Unfortunately, this has resulted in the complete loss of sensation in both of my legs. I am currently undergoing treatment to reduce the inflammation in my spinal cord and to address these symptoms.

Although I am not typically one to ask for assistance, the ongoing medical issues, coupled with multiple specialist visits, have created a significant financial burden. I have not yet been able to fully cover the costs from my previous hospital admission in August, and these recent treatments are adding to the challenge.

Any support, no matter the amount, would be deeply appreciated as I continue this journey towards recovery.

En agosto de 2023, me diagnosticaron con Esclerosis Múltiple (EM), una enfermedad autoinmune impredecible que afecta a cada persona de manera diferente. La EM hace que el sistema inmunológico ataque por error los propios tejidos del cuerpo, y he estado manejando esta condición desde mi diagnóstico.

Recientemente, fui ingresado en el Houston Methodist Hospital debido a una grave retención de vejiga, la cual alcanzó un punto crítico, causándome un malestar considerable y afectando mi capacidad para caminar. Durante mi estancia, me realizaron varias resonancias magnéticas y tomografías computarizadas, que revelaron nuevas lesiones en mi médula espinal. Lamentablemente, esto ha resultado en la pérdida total de la sensibilidad en ambas piernas. Actualmente, estoy recibiendo tratamiento para reducir la inflamación en mi médula espinal y tratar estos síntomas.

Aunque no suelo pedir ayuda, los problemas médicos continuos, junto con múltiples visitas a especialistas, han generado una carga financiera considerable. Aún no he podido cubrir por completo los costos de mi hospitalización anterior en agosto, y estos tratamientos recientes están sumando al desafío.

Cualquier apoyo, sin importar la cantidad, será profundamente apreciado mientras continúo este camino hacia la recuperación.
