Hello, my name is Brittney, and I am the organizer of this fundraiser for my son, Rodney Brown.
Below is his story, in his own words:
Hi, my name is Rodney Brown, and I’m currently a sophomore in high school.
I started running track for the first time in 2025, and it quickly became something I’m passionate about. During my first season, I ran under a minute in the 400m and a 25.8 in the 200m. After the season ended, I stayed committed and trained throughout the summer to get better.
Going into indoor season, I was ready to push myself even more. I also tried hurdling for the first time and ran a 10.22 in my season opener. As the season continued, I improved my times, hitting a personal record of 56.5 in the 400m at Wittenberg and 10.08 in hurdles.
Now, as I prepare for my second outdoor season, I’ve been given an amazing opportunity. My coach has invited me to attend our annual team trip to South Carolina for the Cane Bay Invitational.
I’m raising $750 to help cover the costs of spikes, food, transportation, and meet entries for this trip. This opportunity means a lot to me, and it will help me continue growing as an athlete.
Any support is truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me reach my goals.
God bless.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Rodney’s story and for any support you’re able to give.
— Brittney
