I am Rodney Robertson. I am a husband, a father, a friend, and a road rage victim facing a charge. On June 17th, 2025, a road rage driver chased my wife and me on the U.S. 36 freeway here in Colorado. I was the passenger while my wife drove. What started out as the other driver following too close quickly escalated to a high-speed, bumper-to-bumper chase. While this was happening, my wife called 911 for help. The driver chased us off the freeway and into a residential neighborhood. The police responded quickly and pulled onto the street as we were still being chased by the other driver. We got out to flag them down and point out the other driver. THE POLICE PULLED THEIR GUNS OUT ON MY WIFE AND ME. We informed them that we were the ones that called. An officer responded, "They called us first!" The other driver had said that I, a person who has never been arrested, committed a crime against them. The police ignored our cries for help, took the other driver at their word, and let them go. I was arrested and charged. They handcuffed my wife while she was still on the phone with the 911 operator. My wife was allowed to leave. I am now facing the fight of my life in court. All legal advice I have received says the case is winnable. Unfortunately, I am recently unemployed and need help covering legal fees and a few living expenses.
