Support Rodney New's Double Lung Transplant Journey

We are reaching out and asking for support for our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Rodney New, who is facing a life-threatening health crisis. Just two months ago, Rodney developed a severe lung infection that has now progressed to the need for a double lung transplant.

Rodney is not just a husband and father; he is the cornerstone of his family and a pillar in our community. A man of deep faith, he has dedicated his life to serving God. He has always been active, working full-time at Rodney New Insurance, engaging with his neighbors and community, playing the drums with his bandmates in the Change of Heart band, and enjoying rides on his motorcycle with his wife Judy. Rodney is also a valued member of the Fourth Street Church in Madera, CA, and an active participant in his church’s men's group, where he inspires and uplifts those around him. His infectious spirit and commitment to helping others have touched many lives and now is the time for us to rally around him and his family in their time of need.

While Rodney faces the battle for his life, Judy, his wife is focused on providing love and support while also managing the logistics of care. Rodney cleared the first hurdle by being accepted to Stanford's Medical Center on Valentine’s Day and is undergoing the final tests to be added to the transplant list. Hallelujah! And if by the grace of God, a match is found and the transplant a success, he will require round-the-clock care near Stanford for months.

This means we need funds for the following:

1. Housing for his extended care team: As Rodney prepares for his transplant surgery and the subsequent recovery time, it is critical that his extended care team have a safe and comfortable place to stay close to the hospital.

2. Medical Expenses: The costs associated with the double lung transplant, ongoing treatment, medication, and therapy will no doubt be substantial. While we don’t currently have an idea what this will be, the thought of the financial burden can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to raise at least $100,000, alleviating some of the pressure so his family can focus solely on supporting Rodney without the additional stress of financial strain.

3. Everyday Expenses: We also expect some of the funds will help cover everyday expenses like gas, food, and other bills.
