Help Rebuild RODA Livestock Farm and Community After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone,

My name is Romonia, founder of RODA Livestock Farm in the Garden Parish, St. Ann, Jamaica. My family and I built this farm with love, hard work, and faith. It wasn’t just our source of income — it was our way of life.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Melissa destroyed nearly everything we worked for. Our pens, feed, fencing, and livestock were badly damaged or lost. The storm not only set back our farm but also affected many people in our community who depended on us for fresh meat, eggs, and small jobs.

I created this GoFundMe to help rebuild our farm, support my family, and help others in our community get back on their feet.

The funds raised will go toward:

Rebuilding animal pens and shelters

Buying feed, medicine, and replacement livestock

Repairing water systems and fencing, coop

Supporting other local farmers who were also affected

Supporting persons in the community who lost their houses with food and other supplies

Who I am: My name is Romonia Christie, a young farmer and final-year Animal Science student. I am the owner and founder of RODA Livestock Farm, which has been a family-operated business for years.

Where I’m from: I live in St. Ann, Jamaica, known as the “Garden Parish.”

My relationship to the parties I’m raising funds for: I am raising funds for my family, our farm, and members of my community who were affected by Hurricane Melissa. Many lost livestock, homes, and food sources.

How the funds will be spent:

Rebuilding damaged animal pens, coops, and shelters

Buying feed, medicine, and replacement livestock

Repairing water systems and fencing

Supporting local farmers who lost their crops and animals

Providing food and basic supplies for families who lost their homes
