Support Rocio Vargas' Family in Their Time of Loss

We are heartbroken to share the passing of our beloved community member, Rocio Vargas, who left us on September 16th after battling cancer. She was a cherished friend, neighbor, mom, sister, wife, and source of laughter, strength, and kindness to so many. Through her kindness, she always helped others without question. Rocio touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to our community.

She had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether through her jokes that brought smiles on the hardest days or the thoughtful wisdom she freely offered, she nurtured this community in ways that will never be forgotten. She not only fought for herself, but also fought for every single parent and student in San Francisco to get the resources and support they deserved.

As we mourn her loss, we want to come together in support of the family she leaves behind. This fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden of funeral expenses and offer her loved ones some peace during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly to Rocio’s loved ones and support her family, providing a funeral she deserves and making sure Rocio gets buried in her hometown, Jalisco.

Nos duele profundamente compartir el fallecimiento de nuestra querida miembra de la comunidad, Rocío Vargas, quien nos dejó el 16 de septiembre tras luchar contra el cáncer. Fue una querida amiga, vecina, madre, hermana, esposa, fuente de alegría, fortaleza y bondad para muchos. Con su bondad, siempre ayudó a los demás sin hacer preguntas. Rocío tocó innumerables vidas con su calidez, generosidad y compromiso inquebrantable con nuestra comunidad.

Tenía un don para hacer que los demás se sintieran vistos, escuchados y queridos. Ya fuera con sus chistes que sacaban sonrisas en los días más difíciles o con la sabiduría que compartía generosamente, nutrió a esta comunidad de maneras que jamás olvidaremos. No solo luchó por sí misma, sino también para que cada padre, madre y estudiante de San Francisco recibiera los recursos y el apoyo que merecían.

Mientras lamentamos su pérdida, queremos unirnos para apoyar a la familia que deja atrás. Esta recaudación de fondos busca aliviar la carga financiera de los gastos funerarios y ofrecer a sus seres queridos un poco de paz en este momento tan difícil. Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, se destinará directamente a los seres queridos de Rocío y apoyará a su familia, brindándole el funeral que se merece y asegurándose de que Rocío sea enterrada en su ciudad natal, Jalisco.
