Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
My name is Jennifer Balnis, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart on behalf of my cousin, Robyn, and her three children. Their lives have been irrevocably changed by the sudden and tragic loss of their beloved Shawn Schulze. At just 49 years old, Shawn was struck by a car while out for a walk, leaving behind a void that can never truly be filled.
Shawn was a devoted partner to Robyn and a loving father to Evelyn (26), Nate (18), and McKenzie (13). His presence was a constant source of love, support, and laughter in their lives. Now, Robyn and the children are navigating unimaginable grief while facing an uncertain future.
Adding to the challenges, Shawn's passing comes at a crucial time for his children. Nate is set to graduate high school in June and has dreams of attending college in Maine this fall – a significant milestone Shawn was so proud of and eager to support. McKenzie will also be starting her high school journey in the fall, a time that should be filled with excitement and anticipation.
In the wake of this devastating loss, we want to rally as a community to provide some stability and hope for Robyn, Evelyn, Nate, and McKenzie. Our immediate focus is to ensure that Nate's dream of going to college remains a reality and to provide ongoing support for McKenzie as she embarks on her high school years. These young adults deserve the opportunity to pursue their education without the added burden of financial strain during this incredibly difficult time.
