As some may know and some who don't I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. Life can change in an instant, and ours did the day Rob suffered a devastating stroke. It is approaching two weeks and a long road to go!
Rob is not only my partner in life, best friend but also the sole provider for our family. He has always worked tirelessly to make sure we’re taken care of — putting his own needs last to make sure we had what we needed. In a single moment, that stability was shaken. A stroke took away his ability to work, his independence, and left us facing an unknown future.
Right now, he is still in the hospital, fighting every day to regain his strength. Soon, he will enter post-acute therapy rehab for an undetermined amount of time. The doctors have been honest: the road ahead is going to be long, unpredictable, and hard. We’re clinging to hope, but also facing the reality that his recovery may take months or even longer.
With him unable to work, the financial weight of this situation has fallen entirely on my shoulders. We live in Yuba City, but his care is taking place in Sacramento which means daily drives back and forth, hotel stays when I need to be close to him, and mounting travel expenses on top of everything else. Meanwhile, the regular bills at home haven’t stopped —and now the medical bills are pouring in too.
This is why I’m turning to our community, friends, family, and anyone who might see this page. We are asking for help to cover medical expenses, travel and hotel costs, and our basic bills while Rob fights to recover. Every dollar raised will go directly toward easing the financial burden of his care and keeping our household afloat during this difficult time.
We know times are hard for everyone, and we do not take asking for help lightly. But if you’re able to give — even a small amount — or simply share our story, it would mean more than words can ever express. Your generosity will allow me to stay by his side, focus on helping him heal, and give him the support he desperately needs right now.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for your prayers, your love, and your support. We believe in miracles, and we believe in the power of community. With your help, we can make it through this incredibly hard chapter and look forward to the day Rob can come home and begin rebuilding his life.
With love and gratitude,
Rob & family ❤️
