Support Rob's Recovery from emergency brain surgery

Donation protected
On Saturday, July 24, Rob hit his head and developed a headache which continued to get worse over time. By Sunday morning, July 25th, he began not being able to see, his vision was blurry, he was vomiting and slurring his words. At that point, when I noticed, I immediately called his mother to watch our three children so I could take him to the hospital. He immediately was taken into the back and began testing for a stroke, concussion, etc. After multiple tests and scans, they thought he just had a bad concussion but decided to keep him overnight for observation and an MRI. I stayed overnight with him but went to work until further updates, given the fact we were already having financial difficulties. Something in me kept telling me something was wrong. And sure enough, I was correct. A neurologist called me with Robert on the phone explaining to me that he has bleeding on the brain from a brain aneurysm. I immediately left work to find out what the next steps were going to be. They planned on discharging him and have him follow up with the neurologist but given the circumstances of his symptoms and the headache continuously getting worse, they decided it was best to do surgery.

Robert is only 31 years old and has two beautiful little girls and an 8-month-old son. The doctor said for him to have a brain aneurysm this young is very rare. He typically sees this in older people 50+ years of age. Unfortunately, where the aneurysm was located and the type of aneurysm, they could not go through his groin to coil it. So they did have to go through his head, which involved removing a part of his skull to get to the aneurysm. When they got inside, they saw just how big the aneurysm was and that it was actually so aggressive it was about to rupture. Thankfully, they were able to catch it in time and clamp it. Due to his surgery, he will be out of work for several more weeks which comes with the burden of financial stress. We are trying to raise money for his medical bills and other expenses due to him being out of work and I (his fiance) have been out of work for a week due to the medical emergency. My income alone is unfortunately not enough to pay the bills and support our children.

If you could find it in your heart to donate even a $1, it would truly be appreciated. If not, please keep our family in your prayers in this difficult time.

Thank you,

The Carrico family.
