If you’re from the east side of Madison, there’s a good chance you know Rob, or “Robbie.” He’s the kind of person who shows up. For years, Rob has been helping people in our community get stronger, healthier, and more confident. He has built his life around showing up for others, whether that is through training, encouragement, or simply being someone people can count on. Now he is facing something none of us are ever really prepared for. Rob was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer. He has already had a port placed and has begun chemotherapy. He will be going through treatment for the next 4 months, followed by surgery later this summer. Because of this, he has had to step away from work to focus on treatment and recovery. And as many families know, when life pauses, the bills do not. Rob is a husband and a father. He has adult children, and also two young kids at home, just 2 and 4 years old, who need him healthy, present, and supported through this. Even in the middle of all of this, he is still showing up. Still training. Still working out himself. Still encouraging the people around him. No complaints. Just doing what he has always done. Showing up. But this is not something he should have to carry alone. This fundraiser is to help support Rob and his family during this time. It will help cover living expenses, medical costs, and give him the space to focus on healing without the added stress of finances. If you are able to give, any amount truly helps. If you are not in a position to donate, sharing this can make a real difference. Let’s show up for Rob the way he has shown up for so many others.
