Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

 

On December 5th, my mom Robin Borden was taken to the emergency room for back pain. During that visit it was found that she had a large tumor in her right lung that is wrapped around the artery coming from her heart. After further testing, it was found that the tumor was cancer and has progressed to Stage 4 and has spread to her lymph nodes and bones. At this point Chemo and Immunotherapy are her only treatment options and we are on a very short window to begin treatment.

 

Mom’s journey has not been an easy one. Over the last few years, she has faced multiple heart attacks and last year a mild stroke. She is on a fixed social security income which barely covers the cost of her living expenses. She has been working to supplement that part time for the past few years. In June of this year, she tripped at work on a rug and broke her leg and has been off work for the past 6 months trying to get that to heal up. As you can imagine this cancer diagnosis brings a new level of difficulty to her journey. We are reaching out to our community of friends, family, and even kind strangers to lighten the financial load and help us fight through this cancer. Any donation will make a significant difference in supporting treatment and overall well-being.
