- Hello, my name is Robin Blakely, and on June 15, 2025, my life changed in two hours. I had just come from my hometown after celebrating my son’s 8th-grade graduation. My friend and I wanted to unwind and have a couple of drinks and some food, so we decided to go to this new lounge that was opening that night, about five to seven minutes from my home.
- As we got dropped off at the place, we were there for maybe two hours before my friend wanted to take a smoke break outside and come back in. We headed outside of the lounge and walked away from the doors of the place. We heard the security say to someone that he couldn’t come back in because it was at capacity. We thought nothing of it, just minding ourselves. The next thing I know, shots ring out! My friend and I ran back to the doors of the club, along with many others trying to get away from the shots being fired. Low and behold, I was hit in my abdomen upon running in the doors (I’m the girl in the white standing on the wall in the picture). It was like a movie.
- Once I ran inside, I collapsed on my right side, realizing I was hit somewhere but didn’t know where. I reached for my phone that had fallen next to me and tried to dial 911 but couldn’t; I was weak and hit. People were running over my body and yelling out, asking if I was hit. I could barely speak but gestured that yes, I was hit. No cops, no ambulance, no EMT showed up, and they are right on the corner of this establishment. Someone in a private vehicle rushed me to Conemaugh Medical Memorial Hospital, where I was taken to the trauma unit for a gunshot wound to my abdomen. I was revived, and when I woke up, I had over 40 staples from my chest to my pelvis, a bullet still lodged in my pelvis, paralyzed on the right side of my body, and a badly injured body.
- During this ordeal, I’m currently still in the hospital since June 15, 2025; it’s currently July 11, 2025. I have to learn to talk right again, my kidneys failed so I have to have dialysis three days a week, learn to walk, have a home care nurse when they decide to release me from the hospital, and need major medical help along with a list of prescriptions to take. I was working for CAPCC Broad Street as a full-time cook at a preschool to make a living for me and my 3 children. I have to relocate to another residence due to needing accessible housing and medical equipment to build myself back up. I had a start-back date to work in August, but I don’t think it’s going to happen at all due to the circumstances. My unemployment claims are being denied. Due to this, I have reached out to social security, but they are working on it. I was not contacted by the police about the incident until 3-4 weeks into this happening, and they are still looking for the guy in the photo.
- I’m asking for help from everyone. I have rent, bills, and my children to provide for in the meantime while I get myself back to good health. If you can help, please do so. Thank you. God is Love ❤️
