One Fight Too Many: Cancer, DeedFraud, and Saving DamageHome

My name is Robin Mobley. I am a mother of four adult children and a proud grandmother of fourteen. I am also a radio and television personality who has spent years serving and uplifting my community. Today, however, I am asking for help—because I am exhausted, disabled, and fighting more than one battle at a time.

I have beaten cancer twice, most recently lung cancer. I am currently in rehabilitation and preparing for another surgery. While trying to heal, I became the victim of quit claim deed fraud—a crime that nearly took my home and my life’s stability.

Someone fraudulently created and filed a fake deed, stole ownership of my home, rented it out for profit, and left me with the damage and the debt. They walked away with the income. I was left with over $17,000 in property taxes, $2,700 in water bills, and additional assessments attached to my home.

For a year and a half, while recovering from cancer, I represented myself in civil court because I could not afford an attorney. By God’s grace, the judge ruled in my favor and awarded my home back to me. But the fight did not end there. The opposing attorney has now filed a stay and appeal, preventing the final transfer. I cannot repair, restore, or safely live in my home while this continues.

When I finally saw my home again, I was devastated. A brand-new deck was destroyed, the interior suffered serious damage, and there is severe mold throughout the house. Because of my lung cancer recovery and allergies, the mold poses a serious health risk. Mold remediation alone is estimated at over $8,000, not including other repairs.

I am physically, emotionally, and financially drained. I am not an attorney. I have fought as long as I can on my own. At this point, I need help to retain legal counsel, address the mounting taxes and bills, and repair the damage so I can heal and breathe safely again.

Quit claim deed fraud is happening all over the country. I never imagined I would become one of its victims. My case has been widely covered, and you can find it through a simple online search. What you will see is a woman who refused to give up—but now needs support.

I believe in God and His favor. I also believe in community. Any support—financial, sharing my story, or prayers—means more than words can express.

Thank you for helping me reclaim my home, my health, and my peace.

With gratitude,
Robin Mobley
