Support Robin Brown through her journey to healing

Donation protected
Most of you know our dear friend, Robin Brown, has been fighting a valiant battle against a rare, and very serious autoimmune kidney disease since February 2024.
Membranous Glomerulonephritis causes nephrotic syndrome, resulting in massive fluid retention which has severely limited her breathing and mobility. Because of this fluid retention in all parts of her body, Robin’s lungs have suffered severe compromised function, and collapse. She has, at times, been unable to walk, and relied on oxygen therapy 24 hours a day. She has spent months of this year in a hospital room, sustaining painful procedures, medications and treatments to try to treat the many horrific symptoms brought on by this relentless disease.
Robin is currently at the end of the 5 month mark of a 6 month treatment protocol which consists of heavy doses of steroids and chemotherapy drug to put this terrible disease into remission.
The great news is that this treatment is beginning to show signs of progress and improvements in her condition! Her nephrologist is hopeful that this treatment protocol is doing its job!
Everyone who has followed along in Robins healing journey has been so generous in pouring love, prayers, and support to her. Many of you have already contributed financially to help Robin with out-of-pocket expenses. She is eternally grateful for all of the assistance she has received thus far.
Because of the toll this disease has taken on her body, Robin has been unable to work this year. Ironically, her dedication of helping others heal through yoga, mindfulness and physical therapy, which has helped her so much during these excruciating 10 months, is not allowing her to offer any of these services to others. The likelihood of her being able to return to her beloved profession in the near future is slim due to her ongoing compromised immune system. Insurance will not cover the next phase of treatments for her ongoing recovery.
Robin has already begun the process of applying for long term disability, but as many of you may know, this process can take months to complete, and the approval is absolutely not guaranteed. The process may require the services of legal representation.
In the interim, this fundraiser has been started to assist Robin with her daily expenses until her disability request can be approved.
Thank you isn’t enough to express how grateful we all are for your contributions to help Robin heal. Whether it’s a monetary donation, a prayer, or sharing her story with others…thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. With all of you, she continues to push through and persevere!

UPDATE: 12/15/24

My nephrologist says latest lab work shows the protocol is working!
Labs show immunological remission!!!
He explained clinical remission can follow 12-24 months later as long as the antibodies do not resurface.
Symptoms continue to be present at this time yet we are moving in the right direction. This last month of the 6 month regimen is difficult with the chemo drugs. Feeling malaise.
And also hopeful and thankful with the latest results.

The past 10 months have been challenging on every level.
Physical, mental, psychological, emotional.

I have learned how to be on the recieving end of care, how to ask for help from a completely vulnerable place.
I have learned to cry openly and often.
Being Present with what IS is often the only thing I can practice.
Acceptance.
This journey has been very very difficult and it's not over.

Big GRATITUDE to those of you who have supported me in some way.
With prayers, thoughts, cards, healing energy, monetary gifts, caregiving, ect.
I would not be where I am today without you.

Going forward, energy and resources will be focused on further healing. Specifically working with therapies to regain full movement and strength, addressing ongoing pain and secondary complications, functional medicine to address triggers of Autoimmune disease.

Ongoing PRAYER requests:

For Complete and Full Remission

Wisdom for the doctors and myself

May we each learn the lessons that are up for us to learn on our individual journeys.

Thank you
Robin
