Support Robin Becker's Battle Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
As much as I'd love to bring awareness to Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, I wish it were for a different reason. In September, my mom, Robin Becker, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She not only has 1 but 2 types of breast cancer: invasive lobular carcinoma and grade 3 carcinoma in situ.
Since September 10th, she has been subject to 3 different biopsies, an MRI, ultrasounds, and many other tests to determine what the best course of treatment would be. Ultimately, it was determined that the first step of treatment is for her to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. She will have a bilateral mastectomy on October 23rd. Due to many factors, reconstruction will be done at a later date. Once we receive the after-surgery pathology reports, we will determine what type of treatment she could face post-surgery, such as chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, etc.
My mom is truly one of the strongest and most caring women I know who never asks for help, and so I am doing it for her. She is a loving daughter, sister, friend, mother of 4 children and grandmother of 3 grandkids. She has also been the sole caretaker of her 14-year-old grandson with special needs since he was 2, who will need extra care while she fights this battle with breast cancer.
As Robin begins her treatment, she faces not only the physical challenges of battling cancer but also significant financial burdens. Medical expenses, lost wages, and everyday costs can quickly add up, putting an immense strain on her family during this already difficult time.
We're asking for your help to ease some of this burden. Your generous contributions will go directly towards Robin's medical bills, treatments, and supporting her family as they navigate this journey together.
If anyone wants to send her a card or personal note please contact me and I will give you the information to get it directly to her.
Update: My mom, Robin had surgery on Wednesday, October 23rd. She is now home!!! She is in a great deal of pain and discomfort, the positive thing is that surgery went well. We won't get the pathology reports back for about 2 weeks but we are just all hoping and praying for good results and for them to tell us they got all the cancer out!!!!!
