Help Me Access Therapy for CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)

Hi, my name is Robert Watkins, and I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in 2020. CRPS is often referred to as “the suicide disease” because it’s one of the most painful chronic pain conditions known to medicine. Living with it has been life-altering in ways I never imagined.

CRPS affects my entire body at this point and causes constant, burning pain, extreme sensitivity, swelling, and limited mobility. Everyday tasks can be overwhelming, and even the lightest touch can feel unbearable. On top of the physical toll, the emotional and mental strain is immense.

While there’s no known cure, therapy can significantly improve my quality of life—helping with pain management, emotional resilience, and coping strategies. Unfortunately, ongoing therapy is expensive, and I’m currently unable to afford the care I need on my own. My ultimate goal is to go to a CRPS clinic called Spero, which has shown significant improvements for individuals with CRPS. Unfortunately, most CRPS therapies are not covered my insurance and the average cost to go to the Spero clinic is ~$50,000.

I’m raising funds to cover therapy sessions (physical, occupational, and mental health), transportation to appointments, and related care expenses. Every donation, no matter how small, helps me move one step closer to managing this condition and reclaiming a bit of my life back.
