Help my father Roberto Recover: Let His 82-Year-Old Wife Finally Stop Working and Be By His Side
-----
Our Story
My father, Roberto, is 91 years old — a man who has lived a full, resilient life and who deserves every chance to recover and regain his quality of life. In early January of this year, our family’s world was turned upside down when he suffered a stroke that left him bedridden and unable to speak or care for himself.
He is now home, fighting hard. Our family came together to cover the hospitalization bills. But the road ahead is long, and the ongoing financial weight of his recovery has fallen mostly on my mother — an 82-year-old woman who, out of sheer love and devotion, is still working as a realtor to keep her husband alive and comfortable.
At 82, she continues to work as a realtor to help cover the cost of his care — a quiet act of devotion that speaks for itself.
Although she loves what she does, we want her to be by his side during these trying times.

What Roberto Is Facing
Roberto’s stroke has left him with serious challenges:
- He is bedridden and requires full-time assistance with daily living
- He has difficulty speaking and is receiving speech therapy to help him communicate again
- He requires occupational therapy to help him regain basic function and mobility
- He depends on a feeding tube and a carefully managed medication regimen
- He needs professional caregivers present to ensure his safety and comfort
This is not a short-term crisis. Full stroke recovery takes time, dedication — and consistent, uninterrupted care.

## The Financial Reality
Keeping Roberto on the path to recovery costs $2,500 every single month:
|Care |Monthly Cost|
-------------------------———-------———— ---
Professional Caregiver $1,500
Medications $500
Speech & Occupational Therapy. $500
Monthly Total $2,500.
Over a six-month recovery period, that is $15,000 in essential ongoing care.
But there is something else we are asking for — and it may be the most important part of this campaign.
My mother needs to stop working during this recovery period.
At 82 years old, she should not be showing homes and managing clients just to keep her husband’s caregivers paid. She should be at his side — holding his hand, encouraging him through therapy, and being the partner she has always been to him. The additional $15,000 we are raising would give her the breathing room to do exactly that: to step away from work for six months and focus entirely on Roberto’s recovery.
Our goal of $30,000 covers:
- ✅ Six months of professional caregiving, therapy, and medications
- ✅ Six months of living support so my mother can stop working and care for her husband

Why We’re Asking for Help
There is only so much any family can do, and we believe Roberto’s life and my mother’s well-being are both worth fighting for.
Every dollar you contribute is a message to my father that people care, and to my mother that she is not alone — and that she has earned the right to rest and just be a wife right now.

A Note of Gratitude
Whether you give $5 or $500, thank you. Roberto has spent 91 years giving to his family and living with strength. Help us give something back to him — and give his devoted wife the gift of simply being present for him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

*100% of funds raised will go toward Roberto’s ongoing medical care, caregiver costs, therapy, medications, and supporting my mother so she can focus on his recovery. We will share updates on his progress throughout.*
