Support Roberto Salgado's Medical and Funeral Costs
Donation protected
My father-in-law, Roberto Salgado, has always worked hard to support his family. He has always been the person that we could count on to help in any situation, cheer for us from the sidelines of any event, or to just be there whenever we have needed him. He has always put the needs of others ahead of his own, and he loves life and the people he shares it with unconditionally.
On December 13, his constant presence in our lives was shattered when he suffered a sudden aneurysm. He was taken by ambulance to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, then flown by LifeFlight to Intermountain Hospital in Murray where he underwent emergency brain surgery. Following the surgery, his doctors believe he suffered a stroke, which greatly reduced his chances of recovery. Over the past three weeks, we have gone from seeing him active, healthy, and strong one day, to talking to doctors and physical therapists about what his recovery would look like days later, to now transitioning to hospice care and preparing for inevitable funeral planning.
We don’t yet know how much the total cost of his medical care and funeral expenses will be. He has some coverage through Medicare, but we know because of the measures that have been taken and the length of his stay in the hospital that his insurance won’t be enough to fully cover the costs that my mother-in-law will be facing, so we would like to ease the financial burden from this unexpected situation so that we can focus on grieving this enormous loss. We appreciate any support you are able to give.
