Support Robert Tomlinson's Road to Recovery

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart but also with hope in our heart. We are writing to share the story of a dear friend who needs our support during a challenging time.

Robert Tomlinson suffered a serious stroke on April 6, 2024. The surgeons at UCLA were able to save his life but Robert has a long road ahead of him learning how to walk and speak again and now it's our turn to step up and support him in his time of need.

Robert is someone who has always been there for others, offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a warm smile whenever it's needed. When Robert saw how break ins were affecting his neighbors he took action by creating a neighborhood watch. He designed and had manufactured yard signs which he paid for out of his own pocket. He founded the non-profit organization California Association of Neighborhood Watch (CANWA) whose purpose is to unify communities and promote and educate about safety.

Robert poured the money that was donated to the non-profit back into the community by buying more yard and street signs. He patrolled the neighborhood which helped tremendously to deter break ins. Many of you will remember seeing Robert in his Prius at all times of day and night.

We could always rely on Robert to be on the scene whether it was to help an elderly woman evacuate her house after a landslide, help chainsaw a downed tree blocking the street, remove a hillside encampment in a fire zone, report a dumpster fire at a local restaurant or identify suspects casing homes.

Recently, Robert has been facing significant medical challenges that have resulted in substantial medical bills. Despite his strength and resilience, these unexpected expenses have put a tremendous financial strain on him. As a community, we have the opportunity to make a real difference in his life by coming together and offering our support. That's why we have started this GoFundMe campaign—to rally around Robert and alleviate some of the financial burden he is facing.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact toward his living and medical expenses. Whether it's skipping a coffee or donating what you can, your generosity will help Robert focus on what truly matters—getting better and healing.
