I never imagined I’d be writing or asking something like this. My husband, Robert Mallard, was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident that has completely changed our lives in an instant. He suffered a basal cranial skull fracture, brain bleeds, and severe road rash. By the grace of God, he is still here with us—but the road ahead is going to be long and hard.
Right now, Robert is facing an intense rehabilitation journey that his insurance simply will not cover. We want to give him every chance to heal fully, but we can’t do it alone. He needs so much to recover and regain his independence: physical therapy to help him walk and rebuild his strength, occupational therapy to relearn everyday things, speech therapy for communication and swallowing, cognitive rehabilitation, emotional and behavioral support, and vocational rehab so he can one day return to work and feel like himself again.
Robert is the most hardworking person I know. He hates to be a burden and never asks for a handout—he’s always the one showing up to help others. Now, I’m asking from the bottom of my heart for friends, coworkers, and anyone who knows him to show up for him. If you’re able to give, share, or pray for us, we would be so grateful. Every little bit truly matters more than you know. Thank you for loving us through this. His daughter Olivia and his five stepkids and grandbabies need him home, and we miss him so much!
