Support Robert Jaques' Road to Recovery

My name is Madalyn Jaques and I am asking for help for my family.

On February 5, 2025, my dad, Robert Jaques, had a partial leg amputation. The surgery went well and he is currently in rehab, working toward being able to come home next month.

Prior to the surgery, Robert was a self-employed attorney who did most of his work in the Oklahoma panhandle, a commute of six hours, one way.

Obviously he has been unable to work since before the surgery and his income has dwindled to nothing in the time he has been in the hospital. We currently have no way to pay the bills that are stacking up.

My brother and I live with our dad still and will be there to help him when he is able to come home. We both work, however, neither of us makes anything close to what we would need to keep up with the bills during this time. I work as a substitute teacher for Ada schools and Johnny works in a game store while he also attends ECU full time.

We are working to get Robert on disability and Social Security but that is a process that takes time, and even when it finally comes through, we will still have budgetary shortfalls.

I am humbly presenting our situation to the world and asking all of Robert's friends and family to help, if at all possible. Robert is well-known and loved in Ada and around the state and so, despite some embarrassment, we decided to move forward with a GoFundMe in the hopes that some of you will feel called to help our family.
