Support Robert Hawk's Recovery and Relocation

Donation protected
I'm Alan Doyle, a Care Coordinator for my friend Robert Walker Hawks. If you know him he's a self-made man that has suffered through many adversities in his life, but has always held his head high. Survived polio as a child and moved from Union City, TN to Memphis to attend Memphis State University. He worked very hard and paid his own way through college in the 5-year Architect program at MSU. Upon graduation, Robert worked in the construction industry his whole life. In his later years he has struggled financially, although you never heard him complain. Always the courteous and upbeat gentleman. For the last decade or more he's lived in the financially troubled Serenity Towers. The city of Memphis has condemned his building and he's being forced to move. Living off of Social Security, finding another place to live has been a real challenge in today's economy. Robert was taken to the hospital in January by ambulance, struggling with the flu and pneumonia. The hospital also diagnosed him with COVID upon his arrival. Now he's been moved to a skilled Rehab center for physical therapy, as he was immobile in the hospital for three straight weeks and became very weak. His time in rehab is still not known. All of this is taking place and we're trying to move him and all of his belongings to a new apartment. To pile on to his other challenges, Robert was diagnosed in Nov-Dec 2024 with Parkinson's Disease. Any treatment for this has yet to be determined. His friends are raising money for Robert, who at age 81 could really use a hand up.

Living in Memphis he's been a lifelong member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church, a member of the local Scottish Society, a member of the Cotton Carnival Crew ENNEAD, Volunteer in the State Guard of Tennessee, a member of Masonic Lodge #95, the local SCV, The Knights Templar and has been honored by the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis.

Your contribution will go towards his moving expense, medical bills, income shortfall to meet monthly expenses, mobility medical equipment, increased rent, badly needed Home Health Care due to Parkinson's Disease. Can you find it in your heart to help?
