Support Robert Ellis’s Stroke Recovery

Robert Ellis — a devoted father, loving partner, beloved uncle, and cherished family member — recently suffered a sudden and severe stroke at just 58 years old.

On March 9, Robert was rushed to the hospital after experiencing confusion, difficulty speaking, and loss of language. Doctors confirmed a significant stroke affecting the left side of his brain, along with additional complications including a pulmonary embolism and newly diagnosed diabetes.

Since then, Robert has undergone intensive testing and procedures to stabilize his condition, including placement of a vena cava filter to prevent further blood clots. He remains hospitalized and will require extensive rehabilitation — including speech, occupational, and physical therapy — to regain communication, independence, and strength.

Despite the challenges, Robert is fighting hard. He recognizes loved ones, responds well to commands, and is determined to recover. Anyone who knows Robert knows his resilience, his big heart, his humor, and his fierce independence.

This medical crisis has come without warning and will create financial strain during a long recovery period. Robert will be unable to work for some time, and ongoing care needs are expected after discharge.

• Transportation to appointments

• Equipment or home support needed for healing

• Daily needs while he regains independence
