Support Robert Elliott's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Nick Elliott. Robert Elliott is my father. On August 4, 2024, my dad was t-boned by a driver in a truck who ran a stop sign. The impact was so hard that the passenger seat was pushed into him and his vehicle rolled 4 times, landing on its side. He had his two dogs with him. Thankfully, they were in their kennel and were not hurt. My dad, however, was not so lucky. He sustained major injuries. He had two breaks in his right leg. One in the lower femur just above the knee and the other in the fibula just above his ankle. He suffered two broken ribs and a punctured lung. He also has a broken arm just below his shoulder. He was cut on his head and leg resulting in 40 total stitches. Luckily, none of his injuries required surgery. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks, most of the time in traction. He is now home and looking at a very long recovery.
Many of you know that my dad and Miranda had just recently moved back to North Carolina. North Carolina was where he was born. They had just bought my grandparents (his mom's) place. My grandmother passed away a little over a year ago. He was driving the car she left him when he was hit. Miranda and he had just gotten moved in and been in NC for less than a month. They were and are excited about their new life. This has really put them in a bad situation. They spent everything they had to buy the land and house. Dad works really hard and does ok. He has now been unable to work for almost a month and it appears it will be at least another month before he will be able to do anything as far as his work is concerned. I decided to put together this to see if we could get them some relief for bills associated with owning a new place and help in general. Miranda is a strong person but she is definitely worried. My dad is a proud man. He is worried but believes everything will work out. This has been his outlook my whole life. Thank you for your time and thank you for your prayers for my dad, Miranda, and our family.
