El sábado 10 de agosto 2024 nos encontrábamos en una playa en el área de Tampa compartiendo en familia. Sin imaginar que esté dia iba a terminar en una tragedia. Mi hijo de 15 años saltó de un muelle en la playa y no se percató que la marea estaba baja por lo cuál al tirarse su cabeza dió en el suelo y en ese mismo momento todo cambió. No sentía su cuerpo, no se podía mover. Fué transportado en Helicoptero a el Hospital General de Tampa, donde fué intevenido quirurjicamente el dia 11 de Agosto 2024. Robert tuvo una lesión de médula espinal y fractura de cuello, lo que lo ha mantenido en cama por el momento porque confiamos en un Dios que lo levantará de la cama. Estuvo 11 dias en intensivo y aún no tenemos fecha de poder llevármelo a casa. Actualmente nos encontramos en el hospital donde ha comenzado a recibir terapia física y ocupacional ya que por este accidente perdió el movimiento de sus extremidades pero seguimos confiando en que el volverá a ser el mismo Robertito amoroso, deportista con ese corazón de oro tan hermoso. Durante todo este tiempo hemos estado con el, papá y mamá en el hospital, por lo que hemos decidido pedir ayuda, ya que no hemos podido trabajar y tenemos una casa que pagar entre otras cosas. Esto va a ser un proceso largo los doctores nos dejaron saber. Los fondos se utilizarán para respaldar cualquier gasto inesperado y apoyar las necesidades del hogar como una ducha para que bañarse sea más accesible, cama reclinable entre otras cosas que entiendo se necesitarán para que el hogar esté lo más preparado posible para el.

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, we were on a beach in the Tampa area, spending time with our family. We never imagined that this day would end in a tragedy. My 15-year-old son jumped off a pier on the beach and didn't realize that the tide was low, so when he jumped, his head hit the ground, and at that very moment everything changed. He couldn't feel his body, he couldn't move. He was transported by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, where he underwent surgery on August 11, 2024. Robert had a spinal cord injury and a neck fracture, which has kept him bedridden for the moment because we trust in a God who will lift him out of the bed. He spent 11 days in intensive care and we still don't have a date to be able to take him home. We are currently in the hospital where he has begun receiving physical and occupational therapy since this accident caused him to lose movement in his limbs, but we continue to trust that he will return to being the same loving, athletic Robertito with that beautiful heart of gold. During all this time we have been with him, dad and mom in the hospital, so we have decided to ask for help, since we have not been able to work and we have a house to pay for, among other things. This is going to be a long process, as the doctors have informed us. The funds will be used to support any unexpected expenses and support the needs of the home such as a shower so that bathing is more accessible, a reclining bed, among other things that I understand will be needed so that the home is as prepared as possible for him.
