Robert “The Dude, Bobby” Butler was born on October 18, 1965, and gained his wings on November 25, 2024. He leaves behind his daughter Kristen Hawkins and his granddaughter Kaia Hawkins, as well as many friends. Bobby’s story is one of immense courage and resilience; he fought many battles and was able to keep himself from becoming just a statistic. He had 13 years of sobriety under his belt and overcame homelessness. He was an inspiration to many, and he will be deeply missed.

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my father, Robert Butler, lovingly known to many as “The Dude.” He was an incredible man—strong, resilient, and full of life. He faced countless challenges throughout his life, but always approached them with a sense of humor, strength, and kindness. His legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance has touched the lives of so many.

As his daughter, it is now my responsibility to manage his final arrangements. Unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming. I’m reaching out to friends, family, and the community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Any contributions, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering the costs of his funeral and memorial service.

In addition to the emotional toll, we’re now navigating the logistics of giving him the farewell he deserves, and your generosity will make a world of difference. The Dude lived a life full of spirit, and I want to honor him in the same way—with dignity, love, and care.
