Robert and Effie's Medical Journey

Hello! Our names are Robert and Effie Carey. We are asking for your support during this difficult journey of our lives.

We're rallying together to support my husband's courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, a testament to his unyielding spirit. He has been unable to work since May and is now on short-term disability until after having a successful Whipple surgery, August 22.2025, and successful recovery following.

Unfortunately, the medical diagnosis has caused Major Financial Difficulties as his pay has been reduced by 40% until he is able to return to work following a successful surgery and recovery. We are Struggling Financially to pay his medical bills that continue to increase, make rent, buy groceries, and other necessities. Robert has always been upbeat, humorous, independent, loving, positive, and always working. To see him not feeling well is very emotional and truthfully very overwhelming at times. He has unfortunately been hospitalized on a few occasions since his diagnosis with blood clots forming in his lungs due to chemotherapy treatments, and following a bronchoscopy on his right lung, he suffered a collapsed lung and had to have a chest tube placed as an emergency to correct the collapse. As I, Effie, navigate my own recovery from a severe car accident, and other medical conditions, we are Asking for Your Blessings during this Difficult Journey.

Robert saw a Pancreatic Cancer Surgeon 07/16/25 and Prayers were answered that he didn't have to undergo any further chemotherapy treatments before surgery. So, THANK YOU GOD PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED AND Robert is going to be having surgery without having to undergo anymore chemotherapy at this time. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
