Robbin Whitfield is a devoted Teacher Assistant at Headstart in Pryor, working alongside my wife to support and nurture young children every day. She is a single mother of three: a 20-year-old son who is a full-time student, and two daughters, ages 17 and 14, who live at home. Robbin is known for her kindness, her faith, and her unwavering commitment to her family and her students. Her favorite sayings are, "Give it to God and just keep smiling" and "Joy is my warfare." This spirit has carried her through many challenges, but she is now facing one of the toughest battles of her life.
This is Robbin’s third battle with a brain tumor. Ten years ago, in 2015, she faced her first diagnosis and bravely recovered after surgery and radiation. Seven years later, in 2022, she confronted a second tumor, undergoing proton therapy in 2023 and chemotherapy in 2024. Through it all, Robbin has shown incredible resilience and faith, always putting her children and her students first.
Now, Robbin must undergo another surgery to remove a third tumor. The recovery process will require her to be away from work for at least two months. Because she works for a nonprofit agency, she does not have sick leave or annual leave to cover this time, and she will not receive any income during her recovery. As a single mother, Robbin is the sole provider for her children, and the loss of income puts her family in a very difficult position.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Our hope is to raise enough funds to cover Robbin's essential living expenses so she can focus on healing and caring for her children without the added stress of financial hardship. Any support you can offer will make a meaningful difference in Robbin's life and help her get through this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity.
