Support Rob in Returning to Canada

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about our dad. Our names are Jenna and Kiera. We are sharing this story on behalf of our father Rob Mabey. Currently he is in a critical condition at Juan Maria de Salvatierra General Hospital in La Paz, Mexico. The hospital here has provided exceptional care and an excellent start to his recovery process. However, it is normally at this time of year that he heads back to Kelowna. Due to his condition he will not be able to get back without an air ambulance team. Thus we are seeking help to offset some of the expenses required to complete his transfer back to Canada.

If you know our dad you know he is one of the most stubborn, determined and life-loving people. Right now he is putting all that energy fighting a virus that is making it difficult for his kidneys and liver to function properly. We are doing everything we can to support our dad, however, we recognize we will need the support of his cherished communities both in Los Barriles and Kelowna. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and loved ones to help relieve the financial stress of this situation and help him to focus on fighting. Whether it be through your words of encouragement and support or your generous contributions - anything and everything helps.

He’s built such an amazing community both in Canada and in Mexico, and everywhere along the road. With your support and his stubbornness we know we’ll get him back on his wheels and back to his freedom. We still have a lot to do, his journey isn’t done yet.
