Support for Rob Attar
Rob Attar has built his life in Wichita since moving there from Lebanon at 16. He has been married to Krista since 1999, and together they are raising two children, ages 11 and 14. For more than two decades, Rob worked in his uncle’s Wichita restaurant, and in 2021 he bought the business to provide for his own family. Rob has deep roots in this community, but yesterday, at his annual ICE check-in, everything changed. Because of legal trouble from 26 years ago, Rob has never been able to become a U.S. citizen, even though he pleaded guilty, served his time, and has been law-abiding ever since. He has followed the rules and checked in with immigration authorities every year. Instead of being allowed to return home, Rob was detained, taken to an ICE detention center in Oklahoma, and told he would be deported to Lebanon. His lawyer is now fighting to stop the deportation.
This fundraiser is to help Rob and his family through an incredibly painful and uncertain time. Donations will help cover legal fees as his attorney works to keep him with his family, and they will also help support Krista and their children if this situation becomes prolonged. Rob’s loved ones are facing sudden emotional and financial strain, and any support can make a real difference right now. Please continue to support Rob and his family by giving if you can and keeping them in your thoughts during this fight to bring Rob home.
