Roaring Fork Fencers Club is raising funds to transition from a privately-owned S Corp to a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our goal in this fundraiser is to cover legal and accounting fees involved with the process. Capital raised in excess of our goal will be saved to handle other unexpected costs in the transition, used for fundraisers, and rolled over into the new nonprofit's general operating budget, in that order.
Roaring Fork Fencers Club has been serving the Roaring Fork Valley since 2017, offering beginner fencing classes and camps to bring the sport to newcomers of all ages while also supporting a vibrant, diverse, and welcoming community of actively training fencers that participate in local, regional, and national competitions.
The objective of the move to become a nonprofit organization is to ensure the sustainability of the club, aligning with the model used by most other sports organizations within the Valley. Nonprofit status will allow the club to apply for grants, hold fundraisers, take advantage of reduced costs with facility rentals, and increase access to fencing for more potential participants.
Roaring Fork Fencers Club's mission statement is, "To inspire and sustain passionate fencers through having fun, encouraging connection, and growing skill." The club had approximately 20 members between the Aspen and Glenwood Springs practice groups during the 2024-25 fencing season. Greg Domashovetz is currently the head coach of the organization.
Your donation today will help support an organization dedicated to and loved by its membership. With your support, Roaring Fork Fencers Club will continue to sustain the passion of current members while inspiring new fencers to pick up a foil for many years to come!
