RNS Elite was created by a group of close friends who all work with youth in our community, especially in Dyckman and Washington Heights. Together, we saw the same challenges every day — talented kids who lacked exposure, mentorship, and positive outlets. Too often, young people in our neighborhoods get pulled toward things that can affect them long-term, such as illegal activities, drinking, smoking at a young age, and even gang involvement. We reached a point where we felt like enough was enough. We wanted to build something that could truly make a difference. RNS Elite is more than just a basketball team — it’s a mentorship program and a family. Our goal is to give these kids structure, guidance, and a safe environment where they can grow not only as athletes, but as young men. We also understand that most AAU programs are very expensive, and many families in our community simply cannot afford those high costs. One of our goals with RNS Elite is to make travel basketball more flexible and accessible. We aim to offer smaller, manageable payment options so parents are not overwhelmed financially. We also believe in full transparency — parents will receive clear communication and receipts showing exactly what every single dollar is going toward for their child, whether it’s tournaments, gym time, uniforms, or travel. Basketball is something almost every kid in our community connects with. It gives them purpose, discipline, and motivation. Through RNS Elite, we are using that love for the game to keep them focused, build confidence, and help them stay on the right path. We emphasize academics, character, teamwork, and accountability, both on and off the court.
