RJ Munoz is my nephew and a devoted single dad with half custody of his two young children. Just last week, RJ’s life was turned upside down when he was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Doctors discovered a ruptured tumor in his bowel, and after a difficult procedure, they delivered the devastating news: RJ has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He is still in the hospital, facing an uncertain road ahead with more surgeries and chemotherapy to come.

RJ has always worked hard to provide a loving, stable home for his kids. Now, as he battles this aggressive illness, he’s unable to work and is worried about how he’ll keep up with the basics—rent, electric, gas, and food. The stress of mounting bills is overwhelming, especially as he focuses on healing and being present for his children during this critical time.
