One ordinary workday changed everything for RJ Bilbro and the family who loves him.

RJ was involved in a tragic accident while at work that left him with severe injuries that will affect him for the rest of his life. In a single moment, the life his family knew was turned upside down, and the road ahead became filled with uncertainty and challenges no family ever expects to face. Since the accident, RJ has been undergoing multiple surgeries—often almost every day—as doctors work tirelessly to treat his injuries and stabilize his condition.

His wife, Maegan, has stepped away from her job to become his full-time caregiver. Right now, her focus is exactly where it needs to be—by RJ’s side, helping him through recovery and learning how to navigate this new reality. Maegan has not left his side, spending every night sleeping in a reclining chair in his hospital room so she can be there for him every moment.

Maegan is currently in Birmingham, four hours away from the comfort of her village and family. Their two young boys, Cooper and Dansby, are currently staying with their grandparents, separated from their parents during this incredibly difficult time. While they are being loved and cared for, being apart from mom and dad has been hard on everyone.

At the same time, Maegan is preparing to welcome their first daughter, sweet baby girl Rylee Kay, into the world.

In the middle of fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion, Maegan continues to show incredible strength as she fights for her husband and holds her family together.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden they now face—medical bills, living expenses, travel, and the many unexpected challenges that come with a life-altering injury.
