Shalom everyone,
I am Rivka, 22, a lone soldier from New York. I immigrated to Israel 4 years ago to enlist in the army. I did a pre-military preparatory course for a year in the Gaza Envelope and then enlisted to be a combat collection fighter.
I have lived in the Michael Levin Memorial Home in Beit Hakerem, Jerusalem, since my enlistment.
On the morning of October 7, I was present in the zone and as a result, I was mentally injured, and as a result, I was in treatment for four months, during which I was home for a long period of rehabilitation.
During this time, I got to know Reuven, my fiancé of the day, who at that time had just been discharged from the paratroopers.
Reuven helped me get through the difficult and complicated period that I and he went through. Thanks to him, I found the strength to fight and return to my team and continue fighting in the north.
Two months ago, we got engaged after a year of dating.
We thought we would have financial support from our families, but because we are both lone soldiers who come from Ultra religious home, our family is opposed to our past life decisions. And as a result, they are having a hard time sharing in the wedding costs.
We want to start our life together without certain restrictions, we planned to get married in September and therefore we are pressed for time,
We would be happy with any help
