Riviera Maya is a small family business that began a little over 3 years ago. We are one of the most loved restaurants in the island. We are located on the Southend of Mercer Island. We are made up of a team of (10) 80 hour employees whose income fully depends on us. With these hard times some have experienced a loss of hours while others have been working excessively to try and keep the place running on take-outs. We're a very united team that has been together through hardships and success ever since Riviera Maya was established.
The family at Riviera Maya has made a special connection with its customers. We treat our customers as family. Before COVID-19 hit us we were having customers all throughout the day from opening time to closing. We would have rush hours during lunch time and dinner. COVID-19 immediately affected us in that aspect. Throughout the month of March our sales dropped by 70%. We went from being busy most of the day with dine-in to only doing take-out.
with the downfall of COVID-19 things have had to change for us. Here is how we have had to rearrange our business.
-We had 10 employees almost everyday, we were forced to reduce our employees to 4-5 throughout 1 work day.
-Our prep help had his hours reduced by halve.
-Our chef has less time to prep his work.
-Not every employee is on full time anymore. That impacts their budget for living cost.
-We had to cut off our suppliers like Sysco temporarily, we now have to go shopping for the restaurant's inventory ourselves.
We would really appreciate if you all can contribute to whatever you can to maintain our business. We would love to continue working for our Mercer Island residents. Anything can help sustain our employees and all of their families. Funds will be used to buy food to keep serving all of you guys and to help our workers. Thank you.
