Fund safety and healing for Ris
Donation protected
Ris is a mixed-race, trans, disabled farmer who has spent years fighting for food sovereignty, climate justice, and collective care. They’ve poured their labor into feeding others at Rock Steady Farm, a queer-owned cooperative farm rooted in mutual aid and land justice.
Now, they’re being forced out of unsafe housing while preparing for top surgery. They already stretched everything to cover a move earlier this year, never expecting to have to start over again so soon. No one should have to fight for housing and healthcare at the same time.
Where your money goes
We’re raising $9,000 to get Ris stable and resourced:
- $4,000 to climb out of the financial hole from medical debt and an unexpected second move in less than a year
- $2,500 for top surgery recovery, including food, rest, and transportation to follow-ups
- $2,500 for move-in costs, including rental deposits, first month’s rent, and essentials
How to show up:
- Donate today
- Share this fundraiser with three people
- Send support by purchasing recovery essentials from Ris’ Top Surgery Recovery Wishlist
- Venmo direct support @Ris-Lansing
Housing and healthcare are basic rights, but this system makes Black, brown, trans, and disabled people fight for both. It shouldn’t be this hard to survive. Ris needs stability, care, and a safe place to heal. Let’s make that possible.
