Ripley Roo is my 10 year old Great Dane and has been a cherished member of our family since she was a puppy. She recently celebrated her 10th birthday in December, but just days later, she began limping.

We thought it was a sprain, but the vet visit turned into a devastating diagnosis. Osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer. The X-rays revealed that the disease has already eaten away most of her upper leg bone, leaving it as fragile as an egg shell. The limp wasn't just soreness, it was the pain of putting pressure on the bone.

Ripley now needs end of life pain medication and comfort care to help her manage the pain and enjoy her remaining days with us. We have about 1 to 3 months left with our beautiful girl. Our only goal now is to keep her pain free and full of cheeseburgers until it's time to say goodbye.

Because she is a giant breed, effective pain relief is expensive. The running cost for her medication (Rimadyl, Tramadol, Gabapentin) is roughly $450/month, and we want to make sure she gets everything she needs without delay. We also hope to honor her memory with a small memorial when the time comes, as she has meant so much to us and everyone who has met her.
