My name is Robin Buchanan, and I am raising funds for my only child, Rion Jeffries. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, Rion, her boyfriend, and her beloved micro bully dog were involved in a devastating car accident. The outcome has been life-changing—Rion is currently in critical condition in the ICU, suffering from severe brain damage, shattered vertebrae in three places, over 30 facial fractures, fractured ribs on both sides, and multiple broken bones in her arm, wrist, and fingers. Rion has not woken up yet, and we are praying every day that she will. She does not know that her dog, who meant the world to her, passed away in the accident. The loss is heartbreaking for our family.
Rion is an incredible young woman who has called California home for 15 years. She’s the kind of person who never meets a stranger—her warmth, compassion, and kindness touch everyone she meets. Rion has always gone out of her way to help others, whether it’s feeding the homeless on weekends and holidays, offering a kind word to someone in need, or sitting down to talk with elderly people. She’s a giver, a motivator, and someone who always puts others before herself. Her “it factor” is undeniable, and she brings light to everyone around her.
The funds raised will help cover the mounting medical bills that aren’t covered by her health insurance, as well as the DME equipment she’ll need for rehabilitation. I’ve had to relocate from Seattle, Washington, to California to be by Rion’s side, which has brought additional expenses for food, parking, and lodging, all while maintaining my household back in Washington. Having recently undergone hip surgery myself, it’s difficult for me to walk long distances, so being able to park close to the hospital is essential. Any support you can give will make a tremendous difference for Rion and our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Rion on her journey to recovery.
