We are asking for help from our community, family, friends and dog lovers we may have never even met. We're raising funds for our sweet Riley's second rescue. Riley found his way into our lives as a rescue after being abused, neglected, tethered and abandoned as a street dog. We got this information from a previous foster mom we were able to track down when our family found him tied to an alley fence in 90 degree heat with no water, supplies or tags. Neighbors said he'd been left there for hours at the point we found him, barking in distress. The vet also identified that he had bar chew marks on his teeth from being caged. In spite of his rough start in life, he is the most loving, sweet, affectionate dog and blesses everyone he meets with his deep soulful brown eyes and cuddles. He is over joyed to be with his forever family. He loves playing in the woods, going for hikes and meeting new friends when we walk him around the neighborhood. Even though Riley is only approximately two years old, he was recently diagnosed with a large tumor in his kidney. He will be having a life saving surgery April 22nd, to remove the affected kidney. We are on a tight budget and the expense of this crucial surgery is a huge debt for our family to take on. We love Riley so deeply and want him to live his absolute best life. We will always do everything we can to protect our guy and this recent challenge is no exception. We want him to enjoy family, fun, beach and woods, and playing with his favorite doggie buddies for as long as he possibly can. I picked the name Riley because it originates from a Gaelic word meaning courage. He is a brave and loving soul. He truly makes the world a better place.
