My daughter Riley was diagnosed with a "significant" case of scoliosis in September of 2023. She has been well aware that with her curvature at discovery, she would need surgery, but we braced her spine and waited for her to get a little older. June 24th, 2025, we found out that her curvature increased 14 degrees within one year. Surgery is needed within 6 months or we need to get her refitted for a new uncomfortable brace to wear and push surgery for one more year. So Riley said let's get it done.

Her surgery is scheduled for october 21, 2025. We are lucky enough to be accepted at Shriners and most likely not have to spend much out of pocket for the medical procedure itself. However, Riley is looking at at least 6 weeks of recovery time in which I will be out of work (unpaid) to take care of her. I am elligible to use FMLA through my job but since i am not the one getting surgery im not able to use my short term disability and FMLA is unpaid. This GoFundMe is set up to ensure that we can keep up on bills and regular living expenses while Riley is recovering from her spinal fusion surgery.
