Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but here I am, reaching out in one of the hardest times of my life.
Recently, I was involved in a hit-and-run accident with a semi-truck and another car that left my car totaled. The drivers took off, and I was left there frustrated, heartbroken, and lucky I wasn’t seriously hurt. I only have liability insurance on the car, which means I’m getting no help to replace it.
This situation has put a serious strain on my family. I’m the only working parent in our household, and my income already barely covers our basic expenses. My wife just started school again to help create a better future for our family, and we’re raising our 1-year-old son, a handsome little boy who deserves the world.
Now, we’re down to one vehicle that already is not in great shape. It needs work just to stay running, and juggling everything from work to Ford’s doctor visits with only one car that literally is falling apart, is feeling impossible.
I’m not someone who asks for help easily. I pride myself on pushing through, finding a way, and making things work. But right now, I can’t do it alone. I’m asking for help, from friends, from family, from kind-hearted strangers to help me get another vehicle so I can continue working and providing for my family.
This car wasn’t just transportation to me. As anyone who knows me will tell you, I’m a car guy through and through. I had put so much time, effort, and heart into that car, turning it into something that truly felt like mine. Losing it has been painful beyond just the financial loss.
To all the car people out there you know it’s never just a car. It’s the time you spend working on it, the upgrades, the little tweaks that make it your own. I put in a lot of hours making it feel right. Losing it in a hit-and-run wasn’t just losing a way to get around it was losing something I truly cared about. If you’ve ever loved a car, you get it.
If you can spare anything at all, even just sharing this with others, it would mean more to us than you’ll ever know. Every dollar gets us one step closer to having a reliable car again and getting some sense of normalcy back.
All money donated will be put towards repairing or getting a replacement vehicle.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring.
With thanks,
Riley
