Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out for help for my best friend, Riley — my 1.5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who means the world to me. If you know me, you know how much Riley is a part of my life and my family. She’s been by my side through everything, and right now she needs me — and I need a little help to make sure she gets the care she deserves.

Recently, Riley started losing weight and showing signs that something just wasn’t right. When we brought her to the vet, her liver enzyme levels came back over 1,800 — when normal levels are around 119. The vet said these kinds of numbers are often seen in cases of liver failure, but Riley doesn’t show the usual signs — she’s not jaundiced, lethargic, or vomiting. Because of this, her case is complicated and requires more intensive testing and diagnostics to find out what’s really going on.

Riley is being transferred to LSU for emergency care, where she’ll receive IV fluids, antibiotics, and additional diagnostic testing to try to pinpoint the cause. We truly don’t know yet how much everything will cost, but the estimates for emergency hospitalization, testing, and treatment are already climbing quickly — and I’m doing everything I can to keep up.

I’m setting a goal of $3,000 to help cover her ongoing care, testing, and any treatments she may need. Anything helps — whether it’s a donation or just sharing this with others.

Riley isn’t “just a dog” to me — she’s family, my best friend, and my daily reminder of unconditional love. I want to give her every chance to get better and live the happy, healthy life she deserves.
